What to Do While You Wait on Dealership Service
Most of the time when you take your car in for service, whether it’s a repair or scheduled maintenance, it won’t take more than a couple of hours, so there’s no point dropping it off and leaving. But hanging around the dealership for a long time can get seriously boring, so keep these tips in mind the next time you have a long dealership wait.
Come prepared with some kind of entertainment. You will thank yourself. If you’re a reader, bring a book. Make sure your phone is charged so you can catch up on the news or play a marathon session of Candy Crush, or take a handheld game console along. If you have kids with you, bring toys and activities that can keep them occupied for a while, like coloring books.
Waiting at the dealership is also a great time to get work done. Most car dealerships have Wi-Fi access, so bring your laptop or tablet and get some homework out of the way.
Dealership waiting areas tend to have a TV, so if all else fails, commandeer the remote control and turn to your favorite channel. TV isn’t exactly top-notch in the middle of the day, though, so you should still bring along something else to keep you busy.
Everyone’s favorite thing to do at a dealership is take advantage of the snacks. Where else can you get free cookies? Nowhere, that’s where. There’s also free coffee and water, so come hungry and thirsty. You’d be surprised how quickly eating makes the time go.
Keep these ideas in mind for your next dealership visit and we guarantee you’ll leave happier than you ever have before!
