When shopping for a used car, you may have noticed a new category called Certified Pre-Owned or CPO. While technically used, these cars offer numerous benefits above and beyond the standard used car. When you choose a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan, you’ll get a car that is less than six years old and has fewer than 80,000 miles.
If those two criteria are met, and it has a clean, non-branded title, Nissan technicians will put the car through a comprehensive 167-point inspection. If any issues are found, the car will be repaired or refurbished with genuine Nissan parts to make sure it meets the strict requirements for the program.
In addition to this thorough inspection, a CPO Nissan comes with the remainder of its original 7-year/100,000-mile limited warranty, 24-hour emergency roadside assistance, a CARFAX Vehicle History Report, car rental reimbursement and towing benefit, and a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
If you find yourself in trouble on the side of the road, the emergency roadside assistance can help with flat tire changes, a dead battery jump, and lock-out assistance. If necessary, the $100 towing allowance will tow your car to the nearest Nissan dealership.
If your breakdown is because of a warranty-covered part, you will be reimbursed for rental car expenses for up to five days at a maximum of $35 per day. In addition, if this breakdown occurs when you’re more than 100 miles from home, you’ll be covered with up to $500 for lodging, alternate transportation, and meals.
For even more protection, buyers can choose the optional Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan that covers more than 1,300 components, including features like electrical, steering, climate control, and brakes. This is in addition to the 600 components already covered by the limited warranty. There are two term options available: 7 years/100,000 miles or 8 years/120,000 miles. In addition, any covered repairs come with a $0 deductible.
