The 2021 TITAN XD and 2020 Frontier are two of Nissan’s most popular and capable trucks. If you’re trying to decide which one to purchase, this guide will help you make the right decision for your needs.
Towing and hauling capacity
The TITAN XD is by far the bigger truck, which means it has the best towing and hauling capacity. With the TITAN XD and its 400-horsepower V8, you’ll be able to pull a max of 10,880 pounds and carry a payload of up to 2,390 pounds. The smaller Frontier is still a strong option, though. Its 310-horsepower V6 engine can tow up to 6,720 pounds and manage a payload of up to 1,460 pounds.
If you want multiple configuration choices for your next truck, the Frontier is your best bet. You can get it with 4x2 or 4x4, a King Cab® or crew cab, and a long or shorter bed. The TITAN XD is only available with 4x4, a crew cab, and a single bed-length option.
Safety and infotainment tech
For the best selection of infotainment and safety tech, turn to the TITAN XD. You’ll receive several standard Nissan Safety Shield® 360 technologies, including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Blind Spot Warning. The TITAN XD also offers a standard 8-inch touch screen with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™. The Frontier doesn’t have quite as many tech features, but it does come with a standard RearView Monitor, Bluetooth®, and a 7-inch touch screen.
The Frontier and the TITAN XD are both available in a range of trim levels, so you can easily customize them to your preferred level of comfort and luxury. The cabins of both trucks offer available conveniences like cargo organizers, a moonroof, power-adjustable seats with heat and leather trim, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Both trucks offer exterior options like power mirrors, a locking tailgate, a spray-on bedliner, and the Utili-track® Channel System for securing cargo.
Whether you choose the Nissan Frontier or the Nissan TITAN XD, you’ll be getting a strong, advanced pickup that will serve you well for both work and play. To learn more about these two models, visit us at James Ceranti Nissan in Greenville, Mississippi.
