2020 Nissan Frontier vs. 2020 Toyota Tacoma | Greenville, MS
The 2020 Nissan Frontier and the 2020 Toyota Tacoma are both mid-size trucks that know what it means to work hard. But the Nissan Frontier has a lower sticker price that provides more bang for your buck without taking away any of the important capabilities.
If you’re looking for a powerful and capable truck that can get the job done but doesn’t have a bunch of costly extras, consider the Frontier. The entry-level Frontier S has a starting price of almost $7,000 less than the entry-level Tacoma SR. The price difference remains as you go through each model’s available trim levels, topping out at a more than $10,000 difference between the range-topping Frontier PRO-4X and Tacoma TRD Pro.
The Frontier and Tacoma both boast plenty of power. With the Frontier, you can choose between a 2.5-liter engine and a 4.0-liter engine, and between a manual and an automatic transmission. The Frontier’s 4.0-liter V6 has 281 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM, whereas the Tacoma’s most powerful engine (a 3.5-liter V6) only gets 265 lb-ft at 4,600 RPM. Towing capacity is pretty evenly matched, with the Tacoma edging out the Frontier with less than 100 pounds more.
The Frontier’s bed is made from a tough, high-tensile-steel ladder chassis construction. It allows for similar payload capacities to the Tacoma. An off-roading trim is available on both trucks, with upgraded suspension, brakes, and terrain managing technology as standard features on those models.
There are many more reasons to buy the 2020 Nissan Frontier other than its price. J.D. Power named the Frontier the Most Dependable Mid-Size Truck last year, and it has been named the Highest Rated Mid-Size Truck in Initial Quality three years in a row.
To make your ride even more striking, consider the Frontier Midnight Edition, a daring package with black accents throughout as well as upgraded features found on the SV model.
While the Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma are both very capable and stylish trucks, the Frontier has the edge thanks to its more affordable price tag. See the Nissan Frontier today at James Ceranti Nissan.
