Powertrain and Performance
An efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission powers select Nissan Frontier configurations. This setup is capable of 152 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque that maintains 23 MPG Highway* fuel efficiency. Most trims are driven by a larger 4.0-liter V6 that, along with its five-speed automatic transmission, outputs 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque.
Standard interior elements of the 2019 Nissan Frontier include air conditioning with an in-cabin microfilter to keep out the particles of dusty trails and city streets alike. Plenty of clever storage is available in-cab from the overhead console with sunglasses storage to the second-row under-seat compartment. Advanced technology keeps you connected along with available NissanConnect® 5.8-inch touchscreen display with Nissan Navigation to keep you on track. Voice recognition allows you to focus on the road while you stream to your Rockford Fosgate® audio system with 10 speakers available on the Crew Cab.
If an off-road powerhouse is what you are looking for in a truck, then the 2019 Nissan Frontier has been built from the ground up to satisfy. Bilstein off-road performance shocks dampen the impacts and jolts of untamed trails. Active Brake Limited Slip is a standard safety feature that automatically applies stopping power when it senses a wheel is slipping. Also available on certain trims is an electronic locking rear differential to boost traction even more to get you through any obstacle the trail has to throw at you.
